Hi Rakesh. I tried ur advice but couldn't get any success. Now,it even doesn't show the error of malfucntioned USB. I suspect that HP had put a bad connector. so is it possibke to get a new connector,so that i can replace it myself?
Please guide me.

Create job Rakesh and Leesolo.
Pictures and description of repair were perfect. Total repair time was about 15 minutes including finding a screwdriver and light.
Works perfectly!!!
Again Kudos...
Mine didn't appear unseated also, but removing then replacing, and securing with more tape, I'm am up and working again.

Hey Rakesh--
Just wanted to say thank you for the detailed walk-through. I had this problem occur recently (after shipping the unit back to HP for an un-related repair). A quick re-seat of the cable fixed the problem.

Look at the bottom right and left corners of your LCD screen. In each corner is a small black rubber bumper, about 5mm diameter. You can pry them off, there will be a screw underneath.

zman221-
I'd bought it from ebay.co.uk but that guy doesn't have any more items to sell. But u can buy it from this site-
http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/72-56451-16837/HP-TouchSmart-tm2-1000-Series-Various-Item.html
Infact i also wanted to buy the cable from the above mentioned site but the guy over there, was not good in communication and he couldn't explain why they are naming the cable 'wecam module',when its for touchscreen. It seems that the ebay guy had also purchased the cable from this same site bcoz even he was selling it as the wecam module. But when i asked his clarification about this,he corrected the title of his listing.
Hope it helps.
PS: You should search the desired cable on that pchub site. Maybe they have got something listed over there with the touchscreen title.

I'm trying to follow the instructions to fix the same problem. However, the 3rd screw is hidden behind the hinge cover. I can't figure out how to remove the hinge cover to unveil the 3rd screw. Could you advise how you removed the hinge cover to get access to the 3rd screw as shown in the first picture.
Thanks a lot.
