Hi @tine10, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP laptop's touch functionality and drivers. Let's try a few steps to resolve these issues:

Fixing Touch Screen Issues

Re-enable Touch Screen in Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
  • Look for HID-compliant touch screen. Right-click it and select Enable device. If it is already enabled, try disabling and then re-enabling it.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Touch Screen Driver:

  • In the Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the touch screen driver.

Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter:

  • Press Windows + R, type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic, and press Enter.
  • Follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter and apply any recommended fixes.

Fixing Driver Issues

Check Device Manager for Driver Errors:

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look for yellow exclamation marks, which indicate driver issues. Right-click on the problematic device and choose Properties. The status box will display if there is a problem with the driver.

Manually Update HP Laptop Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop's model number.
  • Navigate to the Drivers and Software section and download the latest drivers.

Use Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
