Hi @Rafat1987

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Spectre x360 touchscreen stopped working after a recent update, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check if Touchscreen is Disabled

Sometimes, a driver update or change in settings can disable the touchscreen. Here's how to check if it’s been disabled:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. In Device Manager, scroll down and expand the Human Interface Devices section.
  3. Look for HID-compliant touch screen. If it's listed there, right-click on it and select Enable (if it's disabled).
  4. If the option is already enabled, try disabling it and then re-enabling it to see if that fixes the issue.

Step 2: Reinstall the Touchscreen Driver

If the touchscreen is enabled but still not working, the driver might have become corrupted or incompatible after the update. Here's how to reinstall it:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Human Interface Devices section and right-click on HID-compliant touch screen.
  3. Select Uninstall device.
  4. Once uninstalled, restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the touchscreen driver upon reboot.
  5. After the restart, check if the touchscreen is working.

Step 3: Update or Roll Back the Touchscreen Driver

If reinstalling the driver doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back the driver.

To Update the Driver:

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Human Interface Devices, then right-click on HID-compliant touch screen.
  3. Select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions to check for and install any available updates.

To Roll Back the Driver:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Properties.
  2. Under the Driver tab, check if the Roll Back Driver option is available. If it is, click on it and follow the prompts.
  3. This will restore the driver to the version before the update.

Step 4: Perform a System Restore

If the touchscreen still doesn’t work after trying the above steps, you can perform a System Restore to a point before the update was installed.

  1. Type System Restore into the Windows search bar and select Create a restore point.
  2. In the System Properties window, click the System Restore button.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point before the update that caused the issue.

I hope this helps.
