Hi @Rafat1987
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Spectre x360 touchscreen stopped working after a recent update, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check if Touchscreen is Disabled
Sometimes, a driver update or change in settings can disable the touchscreen. Here's how to check if it’s been disabled:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- In Device Manager, scroll down and expand the Human Interface Devices section.
- Look for HID-compliant touch screen. If it's listed there, right-click on it and select Enable (if it's disabled).
- If the option is already enabled, try disabling it and then re-enabling it to see if that fixes the issue.
Step 2: Reinstall the Touchscreen Driver
If the touchscreen is enabled but still not working, the driver might have become corrupted or incompatible after the update. Here's how to reinstall it:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Human Interface Devices section and right-click on HID-compliant touch screen.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Once uninstalled, restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the touchscreen driver upon reboot.
- After the restart, check if the touchscreen is working.
Step 3: Update or Roll Back the Touchscreen Driver
If reinstalling the driver doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back the driver.
To Update the Driver:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices, then right-click on HID-compliant touch screen.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions to check for and install any available updates.
To Roll Back the Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Properties.
- Under the Driver tab, check if the Roll Back Driver option is available. If it is, click on it and follow the prompts.
- This will restore the driver to the version before the update.
Step 4: Perform a System Restore
If the touchscreen still doesn’t work after trying the above steps, you can perform a System Restore to a point before the update was installed.
- Type System Restore into the Windows search bar and select Create a restore point.
- In the System Properties window, click the System Restore button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point before the update that caused the issue.
I hope this helps.
