Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand, touchscreen drivers are missing,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
When was the last time it worked fine?
Were there any hardware/software changes made?
I have a few steps that should resolve your concern:
I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).
If it works on bios, it's a software issue, update the drivers from the HP Website, if the issue persists: please reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue
Attempt to run a test using the HP hardware diagnostic tool,
Let me know how this goes,
Have a great day 🙂
Cheers 🙂

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
Touchscreen drivers are a part of the native OS drivers like the keyboard, mouse, touchpad and the hard drive. It will not be available on the HP support site. Please check device manager under HID option and it should reflect in device manager.
Hope this answers your query 🙂
If you need further assistance please feel free to reach out to us 🙂
Cheers 🙂

Thanks for replying,
Let's try these steps to check for the Touchscreen drivers:
Perform a hard reset (All-in-Ones and Desktops)
Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by a hard reset, which decreases the amount of power stored in hardware components.
- Shut down the computer, then disconnect the power cord from the rear of the computer.
- Press and hold down the power button for at least 10 seconds, then release it. The power light indicator might turn on briefly then go out.
- Reconnect the power cord, then turn on the computer to confirm if the issue is resolved.
Go to Device Manager > Right click on HID driver > Select Scan for hardware changes.
Now check for Touchscreen drivers.
You could install BIOS update following steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00007682
Update drivers and software with Windows Update (Windows 10)
Use Windows Update to install the latest software and hardware drivers from Microsoft for your computer.
- Search Windows for 'update', then click Windows Update in the results.
- Click one of the following options, if presented, on the Windows Update window:
-
If updates are available to download, click Install now.
Figure: Install updates now
-
If no updates are currently listed, click Check for updates, then click Install now after Windows detects available updates.
Figure: Check for updates
-
Perform a recovery of Windows
If the touchscreen issue was not resolved in the previous steps, go to Performing an HP System Recovery to continue troubleshooting.
Let me know how it goes,
Cheers 🙂

Thanks for replying.
As @Flower_Bud is out of the office today, I'm replying to you.
I have read your post comprehensively and you have been fabulous to work with considering your superb technical skills and valuable patience. Kudos to you for that.
Did you attempt a hardware test on the touchscreen as suggested in the previous post? If not yet then please follow the below steps:
- Shut down the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics screen displays, click Component Tests.
- Click Touch Screen.
- There are two interactive touch screen hardware tests. Start by clicking Touch Pointer Test.
- Read the on-screen instructions, and then click Run once.
-
Touch each of the blocks on the screen to erase them. The test ends after all blocks are erased or after three minutes have passed, and the results display.
-
Click Main menu to return to the main screen, and then run the second touch screen test.
-
Click Component Tests, and then click Touch Screen.
-
Click Drag And Drop Test.
-
Read the on-screen instructions, and then click Run once.
-
Drag each orange rectangle to the box indicated by the arrows with a finger or a stylus. The test ends after all blocks are repositioned or after three minutes have passed, and the results display.
-
If the diagnostics tests pass but the touch screen still does not respond, continue following the steps in this document.
-
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) and let me know.
If the hardware test passes then please download and run the HP Support Assistant tool. This tool will download and install the required drivers for your PC:
- Click here to download the HP Support Assistant.
-
Click My devices on the top of the HP Support Assistant window, and then click Updates in the window for your device.
Figure : Updates in the My PC box
The Updates window opens.
-
If HP Support Assistant detects updates, a list of updates displays in the Updates available window.

-

-

-
Prepares an action list
If HP Support Assistant finds updates, they display in the Updates available window.

All the best! 🙂
