The touch screen was working when I first got the computer a couple of weeks ago, and now it no longer works. I have tried re-starting and looking at online help which directed me to the Device Manager and the HID-compliant touchscreen. That is not an option that I find, but this model definitely has the touchscreen feature. What happened?

Hi @valeriej886
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thank you for reaching out. I understand how important the touchscreen feature is on your new HP OmniBook X Flip, and I’ll be glad to help you with this.
To better assist you, could you kindly confirm the full product number (Link for steps - click here )
- Does the touchscreen not respond at all, or does it work intermittently?
- In Device Manager, do you see any devices with a yellow warning symbol under Human Interface Devices or Other Devices?
- Does the touchscreen work in the BIOS or HP Hardware Diagnostics environment, if you have tested it there?
In the meantime, kindly try the following steps and confirm :
Step 1: Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings -System -Troubleshoot -Other troubleshooters.
- Run any available troubleshooters related to hardware and devices.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
- Open Settings -Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install all available updates and restart the notebook.
Step 3: Scan for Hardware Changes
- Open Device Manager.
- Click Action -Scan for hardware changes.
- Check whether HID-compliant touch screen reappears under Human Interface Devices.
Step 4: Perform a Hard Reset (Link for steps - Click here )
- Shut down the notebook.
- Disconnect all external devices.
- Press and hold the Power button for approximately 15 seconds.
- Turn the notebook back on and test the touchscreen.
Step 5: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Lik for steps - click here )
- Turn off the notebook.
- Turn it on and repeatedly tap F2.
- Run the available hardware component tests and let us know the results.
I hope this helps.
