Hi @Kamini_360,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The CODE10 error for the I2C HID device usually indicates a problem with the device driver or hardware issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with your HP laptop's touchpad.

Update or Reinstall Drivers:

  • Device Manager: Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
  • Find I2C HID Device: Look under "Human Interface Devices" for "I2C HID Device." Right-click it and select "Update driver." Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  • Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn’t work, right-click the device again and select "Uninstall device." Restart your laptop, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver.

Check Touchpad Settings:

  • Settings App: Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad (or Mouse & touchpad) and make sure the touchpad is enabled.

Install Latest Touchpad Drivers:

  • HP Support Site: Visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop model. Download and install the latest touchpad drivers available for your laptop.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Check BIOS: Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Esc during startup). Ensure that the touchpad is enabled in BIOS.

Windows Update:

  • Check for Updates: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes, driver updates are included in Windows updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
