I am trying to connect another monitor to the laptop through USB-C. However, while trying to connect, I get a pop-up on the other monitor "No USB-C signal from your device". On clicking on the "Detect" tab in "Multiple Displays" in settings on my laptop, It says" Didn't detect another display". Can anyone please suggest any solution to this issue?

Hi @Monsoon1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you're experiencing with your HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ae000 CTO and the external monitor may be due to several factors, including the USB-C port, cable, or driver issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.
Step 1
1. Turn off the Unit.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
3. Remove any discs from the disc drive.
4. Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
5. Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
6. Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
7. Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.
Step 2
Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit
Step3
The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit
Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.
1. Check Cable and Port Compatibility
- Ensure that both your USB-C port and the USB-C cable support video output (DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 3/4). Not all USB-C ports support video output, so double-check the specifications for your HP Spectre x360.
- If possible, try using a different USB-C to HDMI or USB-C to DisplayPort adapter or cable to rule out a faulty cable.
2. Update Display Drivers
- Update your graphics drivers to the latest version. You can do this by:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics driver, and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Alternatively, visit the HP support website or the Intel/NVIDIA website (depending on your GPU) to download and install the latest drivers manually.
3. Update USB-C and Thunderbolt Drivers
- Make sure your USB-C or Thunderbolt drivers are updated:
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click the USB-C controller (may appear as a Thunderbolt or USB-C controller) and select Update driver.
4. Check Display Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Display.
- Under Multiple displays, click on Detect.
- If the external monitor is not detected, try the following:
- Click on Advanced display settings and manually select the external monitor.
- Ensure that the Display Mode (Duplicate, Extend, etc.) is correctly set.
5. Try a Different Monitor
- Test the connection with another external monitor to see if the issue lies with the first monitor or your laptop.
6. Check BIOS and Firmware Updates Software and Drivers for HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ae000 CTO
- Make sure your BIOS and Thunderbolt firmware are up to date. Go to the HP Support page for your model and look for BIOS and firmware updates. Install any available updates and restart your laptop.
7. Use Windows Key + P
- Press Windows Key + P and select the appropriate display mode (Duplicate, Extend, etc.). If the laptop recognizes the monitor, this should show options for configuring the display.
8. Try Disabling and Enabling the Graphics Adapter
- Go to Device Manager > Display adapters.
- Right-click on your graphics card and select Disable device.
- After a few seconds, right-click again and choose Enable device.
Please run the hardware test: HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
Refer to this document: HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ae000 CTO User manual
HP PCs - Connecting a monitor, projector, or TV (Windows)
HP PCs - Using two or more monitors with one computer (Windows 11, 10)
HP PCs - Connecting to a wireless monitor or smart TV (Windows 11, 10)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
