after using the computer for a period ,sometimes I experience some vertigo(dizziness) I'm reading it's caused by prolonged uses of a video screen.
are there any special settings--brightness ,etc that might relieve this issie?

Maybe, though even the idea of our recommending something is perhaps not the best idea -
Why?
There are a LOT of reasons for the condition you describe and just as many articles, judgements, fixes, and attempts at online diagnosis.
So, what is the best idea?
- Talk to your doctor,
- Talk to your eye doctor,
- Ask your best friend, your pastor, your neighbor: what do they do?
- READ what you can find on the subject
This last bit is a bit counter-intuitive - looking too much at a computer screen is causing you problems and I am asking that you use your computer to look for information. Yes, I hear how that sounds.
Be aware that much of what is on the Internet is well intended and some of it is just "bunk" (useless, superficial, scary, or worse).
What is something you can do that is perhaps helpful, not harmful, and likely "not bunk" (silly, useless)?
- Do not spend too much time in front of your screen. Get up every several minutes and look at something at least as far away as the other side of the room (twenty feet is the "recommended" distance - do what you can).
- Sit properly and keep your head up - do not hunch over the screen like a cat licking at water.
- Turn down the brightness on the screen a bit so the whites are not "blinding" white.
- If your computer offers a "night light" setting that dims and reddens the screen, try it.
Windows 10
Settings > System > Display > Night Light Settings and schedule
Also on the "Display" page,
Consider adjusting the Font size - if things are too small you have to work harder to see what is in front of you.
Consider (mentioned) Changing the Screen Brightness
