@heidi116, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating display alignment issue on your HP laptop running Windows 11, where websites appear off-center and adjusting margins with the mouse or keyboard doesn't help. Let's walk through a few steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this:
Check Display Scaling and Resolution
Sometimes incorrect scaling or resolution settings can cause websites and apps to appear off-center.
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Under Scale and layout, make sure:
- Display resolution is set to the Recommended value.
- Scale is set to 100% or 125% (whichever is recommended).
- If you have multiple displays, ensure the correct one is selected at the top.
Check Browser Zoom and Layout
If this only happens in web browsers:
- Open your browser.
- Press Ctrl + 0 (zero) to reset zoom to default.
- Try resizing the browser window manually by dragging the edges and see if it centers.
Update Graphics Drivers
Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues.
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your graphics card and choose Update driver → Search automatically.
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
- Install any pending updates and restart your laptop.
Try a Different Browser
If the issue is only with one browser (e.g., Edge), try using Chrome or Firefox to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
