Hi @spaladi12,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like your HP ENVY x360 - 15t is encountering several issues after upgrading to Windows 11, particularly around drivers for fingerprint, camera, auto screen rotation, and the power button light. These types of issues can commonly arise after major OS upgrades due to incompatible or outdated drivers.
Here’s how you can resolve these issues:
Fingerprint Reader Not Compatible with Windows Hello:
- Visit HP’s support page for your HP ENVY x360 - 15t and download the latest fingerprint driver for Windows 11. You will likely need the Synaptics or Goodix fingerprint driver.
- Alternatively, you can try updating the driver through Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the Biometric devices section.
- Right-click the fingerprint device, select Update driver, and choose Search automatically for drivers.
Camera Not Compatible with Windows Hello Face:
- HP Envy models may use RealSense or other drivers for Windows Hello Face recognition. The camera driver might not have been updated for Windows 11 during the upgrade.
- Download the correct camera drivers from the HP support website for your model.
- You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera drivers in Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section, right-click the camera device, and select Uninstall.
- Restart your laptop to let Windows automatically reinstall the camera drivers.
Auto Screen Rotation Not Working:
- The auto-rotation function depends on the accelerometer driver, which may not be functioning properly after the update.
- Here’s how to fix it:
- Go to Device Manager and expand Sensors or System Devices.
- Look for a sensor or accelerometer driver (often named "Kionix" or "STMicroelectronics").
- Right-click the driver, select Update driver, and choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If this doesn’t work, download the latest sensor/accelerometer driver from the HP support website.

Additionally, ensure Rotation Lock is turned off:
- Press Win + A to open the Action Center.
- Ensure the Rotation Lock option is unchecked.
Power Button Light Not Blinking:
- This could be related to a driver for the power management or keyboard controller.
- Download the latest HP System Event Utility and HP Keyboard Controller Driver from the HP support page.
Note:
- Update Windows: Ensure Windows 11 is fully updated by going to Settings > Windows Update and checking for updates.
- HP Support Assistant: Download and run the HP Support Assistant to help find any missing drivers and apply updates automatically.
- BIOS Update: Ensure that your BIOS is up-to-date by checking for updates on the HP support page.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @spaladi12,
Thank you for your response,
let’s try some advanced troubleshooting steps along with the specific drivers that might help resolve the remaining issues.
Windows Hello Face Recognition Not Working
Since reinstalling the camera driver didn’t help, it may be that Windows Hello Face requires an updated RealSense or IR camera driver compatible with Windows 11.
Install Updated Camera Driver:
- Go to the HP Support site and enter your model number. Look for the latest camera driver, likely under categories like “Cameras” or “Imaging Devices.”
- Download and install the recommended driver for Windows Hello support (often listed as "IR Camera" or "Windows Hello Camera").
Run the Windows Hardware Troubleshooter:
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Camera, then run the troubleshooter.
Auto Screen Rotation Not Working
Screen rotation issues are often due to the sensor or accelerometer driver becoming incompatible post-upgrade.
Enable Sensors in Services:
- Open Services (press Win + R, type services.msc).
- Ensure Sensor Monitoring Service is set to Automatic and running.
Install Updated Accelerometer Driver:
- Visit the HP Support page for your model and download any driver labeled Kionix, STMicroelectronics, or Accelerometer driver.
- Install the driver and restart your device.
Enable Rotation in Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Display and scroll down to ensure Rotation lock is off. If it’s still grayed out, verify your device is in tablet mode by pressing Win + A and selecting Tablet Mode in the Action Center.
Power Button Light Not Blinking
This may relate to system management drivers or the power utility.
Install HP System Event Utility:
- Download the HP System Event Utility and Keyboard Controller Driver from the HP support site for your model.
- These drivers manage power states, including the power button light behavior, so updating them may restore functionality.

Check Power Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & battery > Power mode and select Balanced.
- Restart the device afterward to ensure the changes take effect.
Additional Recommendations
- HP Support Assistant:
- Run HP Support Assistant to auto-scan for updates. This can identify missing drivers specific to your hardware configuration.
- BIOS Update:
- Check the HP support site for a BIOS update. Newer BIOS versions often improve hardware compatibility with OS updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
