How do I get around the 100mbps cap on my ethernet connection on this laptop? I have gigabit service and the wi fi connection is too slow because I am using it outside on the patio. So I ran an ethernet cable outside and it is only running at 100 Mbps. I know it isn't the cable or anything else. I took my business desktop outside and connected it to the same ethernet cable and am running at 1gbps.

Hi:
The integrated ethernet adapter your PC has is limited to 100 MBPS.
See the specs below...

If you want to have 1 GB ethernet speeds, you can purchase a USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter, plug it into your notebook's USB 3 port, and you should get close to a gigabit ethernet connection.
