The realtek rtl8188ee is a problem device. Yes, there are constant complaints about its performance. Ideally, you would replace it with something better but in machines that have that wireless adapter, HP has usually given you only one wireless antenna, which prevents upgrade to anything much better. Unless you are in the mood to essentially rebuild the laptop and add a second wireless antenna cable and an 802.11ac wireless adapter, your best bet is a usb 802.11ac dongle like this. Cheap and easy to install.

Hi, @filozof :

As W10 evolves, newer drivers are released over time.

Unfortunately, HP does not seem to support the consumer notebooks with driver updates like they do for the business models.

So, if and until you decide to replace the wireless card, I recommend you try the newest W10 driver release for the model wlan card you have...

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

2023.48.1130.2016 Rev.A (9 Feb 2017)

- Fixes an issue where a system connected to a wireless network automatically disconnects from the network.

However, bear in mind that the fastest connection speed you can get from a 1x1 wlan N card is limited to a maximum of 72 MBPS, no matter what driver you install.
