hp 245 g5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently upgraded my Hp 245 g5 laptop wireless adapter to RTL8821CE as old WIFI adapter does not have Bluetooth and 5ghz WIFI band but this new adapter is having Bluetooth connectivity issues so i am planning to install a second wireless antenna in my laptop so that i can use any other dual antenna adapter on my device . Is there any specific antenna which i need to buy for my laptop or i can buy any random antenna?

Hi:

For best results, I recommend you try and find the dual antenna kit listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

HP Notebook PC (AMD) * Models: 14-an0XX * Models: 14-as0XX * Models: 14-au0XX * Models: 14z-an000HP ...

Dual antennas   HP part # 859127-001

Then in order to properly run the second antenna, you will pretty much have to take the whole notebook apart including the display bezel to install the second antenna.

If you get poor reception, the Bluetooth will not work properly because on the Intel cards, the Bluetooth reception is provided entirely by the auxiliary antenna wire that your notebook is missing.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to help you add a second antenna wire.

I would never consider doing such an extensive disassembly project with my limited experience.

I am currently using RTL8821CE  adapter , the Bluetooth device(headphone) frequently disconnects and their is also problem of audio breaking also 2.5 ghz wifi signal is almost null with this adapter, i have tried upgrading my driver but none worked

I don't use the Bluetooth on my notebooks, but the Wi-Fi signal strength is excellent.

If I did, I would only be using the Bluetooth for transferring pictures from my cell phone to the PC.

I am not very happy with the download speeds I get...probably a max of 120 MBPS, but I can live with it, since the 255 G7 is not the main notebook I use.

But I never have experienced disconnections or other major Wi-Fi issues.

I'm paying for 400 MBPS service.

Could you tell me approximate cost in which i can get a dual antenna for my device i can't find exact model of antenna for my device

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

HP does not sell the antenna kit.

I just checked the e-Bay USA site, and none are listed for sale there.

A vendor in Australia has the kit for $71 AU dollars.

You will probably have to resort to finding a generic M.2 Wi-Fi card antenna wire and hope for the best.

Good luck with your Wi-Fi card antenna installation.

If you go through with it, I recommend you try this model Intel AX Wi-Fi card:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro      HP part #L35282-005.

That is the same model card HP installed from the factory in my HP Envy x360 15-ee0047nr notebook with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor, so hopefully it will work in your 245 G5 AMD notebook.

Update - I have installed the second antenna through a repair shop the repairmen have soldered the second antenna on my laptop hinge without opening the LCD he said it will work fine could you please tell me now that intel ax200 will support my laptop(HP 245 g5)?

HP Recommended

You can try the Intel AX200 part number I posted.

I know it works in my AMD notebook but mine has a much newer processor (Ryzen 5 4500U) and chipset.

I can't guarantee it will work but it is the only one that has any chance of working.
