Bluetooth icon is missing. I tried restarting my computer, and everything is up to date. I can't connect any devices via Bluetooth. After restarting the computer, I can hear the "connecting " words in my headphones and see my computer trying to connect via Bluetooth, but a few seconds later the icon disappears, and I can't connect.

Hi @valeesp,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that the Bluetooth icon disappears shortly after restarting, even though your headphones initially attempt to connect. Since Windows is up to date, let's check whether the Bluetooth hardware is still being detected when the issue occurs.

Please try the following:

  • When Bluetooth disappears, right-click Start > Device Manager.
  • Expand Bluetooth and check whether the Bluetooth adapter is listed.
  • Select View > Show hidden devices and check whether the adapter appears with a warning icon or error code.
  • Also check Universal Serial Bus controllers for any device with a yellow warning icon.
  • If the Bluetooth adapter is missing, perform a power reset:
  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and any external devices.
  • Hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and start the laptop.

Please let us know what you see in Device Manager when Bluetooth disappears, particularly whether the Bluetooth adapter is missing completely or shows an error such as Code 43 or Code 45.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
