I just can't get what's the nature of the problem.

If it's a switched off BT, at machine level, that is impossible to be detected by W10, as I understand by the solution you suggested, that should work.

Why would W10 switch it off again, if it detects it? Huh?

If I do have to, will I have licence problems with MS, since I have upgraded to W10  in the free period?

Will it be still free, in the fresh upgrade?

Should I write down anything, before I go for it?

You shouldn't have any issues with reinstalling W10.

If during the installation process you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet, since Microsoft has a record of your PC having been previously upgraded to W10.

I have clean installed W10 on several PC's that had the free upgrade, and never had an issue with product keys, activation, etc.

No need to reinstall - I went to intel pages and installed a current Bluetooth driver directly.

There was some issue with a recent Windows update that turned it off and I think HP have stopped paying attention to the model.
