Hi:

If someone would be able to assist, I have installed Bluetooth Drivers on my HP Envy 15-j163ei.

I have the recommended drivers installed, but have no luck connecting to bluetooth devices, as in device manager states that the bluetooth controller has not been installed. Device driver that is being used is RAlink RT3290/Mediatek RT3290.

Please replay for further answers where questions are required.

Thank you in advance

Did you already this driver package? It says it's for Windows 10 in the docs but it may still work.

If the HP installer does not want to co-operate, you could expand the files with e.g. 7-Zip

Create a Restore Point befor installation, just in case.

Check a few things in the Device Manager.

If the device is totally unrecognized by windows it is probably in the Other devices category with a yellow exclamation point or a question mark.

If the driver has loaded but the device is disabled, you should see it in the Bluetooth section but with a small down arrow but you already said it's not installed, so this should not be visible at this point.

In either case, please check the device properties by right clicking on it and selecting details and the Hardware IDs property values. Those will identify the device exactly. Please post those back.

Hi Jorkki

It is definitely in the Other devices, as bluetooth controller as a exclamation (!)

There isnt a bluetooth section with down arrows in the device manager at all, so that would be a negative.

In Hardware ID:

PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3298&SUBSYS_18EC103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3298&SUBSYS_18EC103C
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3298&CC_0D1100
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3298&CC_0D11

Thanks for your Prompt response
