Hello, I recently got my hands on a HP DV 6700 with windows  7 (64-bit) with Broadcom network adapter from a friend and found that although it says there is Bluetooth support I have been unable to connect any devices. They simply do not show up, this issue started after using Outbyte to update drivers because before the driver updater my headphones would show up but they wouldn't connect and now they just won't connect, any possible help to this solution would very much appreciated.

I would say that using that 3rd party driver update messed up your Windows installation to the point where if you want to fix it you will need to reinstall Windows.

Before doing that see if you can use the system restore utility and select a restore point before you installed and ran that software.

Your notebook never was supported by HP for W7, so any drivers you need you can get from this reputable 3rd party website.

The only W7 drivers that you would want are the two I already gave you for W7, and if your notebook has a Broadcom wifi adapter, this was the last W7 driver for it.

Do not update the BIOS unless you can install Windows Vista.

Updating the BIOS using W7 or newer is 100% guaranteed to wreck your notebook.

Hi:

The Bluetooth those old notebooks came with is a separate HP Bluetooth module which I believe uses a Broadcom BT 2.0 chip.

This is the W7 driver you need for the Bluetooth adapter your notebook has:

I got everything installed but now the wireless assistant is saying Bluetooth is disabled by the device manager and when I look I don't see Bluetooth radios anywhere, the Bluetooth application in the start menu don't do anything when I click on it either. The help menu said it'll be in the computer's startup Menu but it's nowhere to be seen.
