Pavilion g6-2304TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After upgrading to Windows 10, I am not able to use Bluetooth on my laptop, since the driver is not found.

Where can I find a suitable driver for my device? Does it even exist? Or should I to downgrade back to Windows 8?

I have tried using sp71572.exe which is not working.

Please help!

Your machine uses Ralink RT3290LE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination adapter and no Windows 10 drivers on its support page

   https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g6-Notebook-PC-series/5330578/model/534...

Please try

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=RT3290

and select the second one on the list

Regards.

@Banhien

Not working. I would highly appreciate if you could explain to me the proper way of installation.

Hi, @kush-mish

None of those drivers from the Microsoft Update catalog will work.

sp71572.exe was the only BT driver released for W10, and it only worked on the first couple of releases.

Your screenshot shows no presence of any Bluetooth hardware.

There should be a Bluetooth device manager category.

If you click in the View tab at the top of the device manager window and select Show Hidden Devices, you will see the Ralink Bluetooth hardware in light shade.

You could try right clicking on the light shaded Ralink Bluetooth device, select uninstall, check the uninstall driver box, restart the PC and see if Windows finds the Bluetooth device, but don't get your hopes up.

That is not an unusual occurrence with the Ralink Wifi adapter and the newer versions of W10.

I'm surprised the wifi is working, because that often disappears too.

No fix other than to purchase an external USB Bluetooth adapter, or you could go back to W8.1.

The unknown device probably needs this driver...HP Protectsmart (3D driveguard device).
