ZBook 15 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a Sony MDR-10RBT bluetooth headset that used to work with my HP ZBook 15 G2 laptop. I'm not sure what happened, but it no longer works.

I can pair the headset, and it shows up in the Devices and Printers window.

However, when I double click on the headset's icon and get the window where I can click on Listen to Music or Forward VoIP Calls to Handsfree, they are both greyed out.

If I look in services:

Bluetooth Media Service: not started, automatic

Bluetooth OBEX Service: not started, automatic

Bluetooth Support Service: started, manual

If I try starting Bluetooth Media Service, I get an Error 1053.

I have updated the Intel Bluetooth Driver for 7260/3610 WLAN (American, International) to 17.1.1504.518 Rev.A
29 Jun 2015. I'm not sure what that replaces, since when I look in the Device Manager, under Intel Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter, it still says 17.0.1401.422.

Any suggestions of where to look next would be appreciated.

stringy76,

I found this note about the issue from Intel. Apparently there are two Microsoft Updates that break Bluetooth on Intel.

If you follow those steps, you should be able to reinstall those updates and have your headset work again.

I am having this exact same issue with the same laptop model.

It worked fine on Monday. Windows did an update. Now it does not work.

All of the services are the same as you are saying; same issue with the greyed out Listen to Music.

Please help us both, HP!
