Hi all,

The Bluetooth icon is missing from the device manager list. I'm also unable to remove my Bluetooth device fro the list due to lack of access.

Bluetooth toggle switch is also missing.

Do i require an update?

Thankyou

Hi:

Did you recently upgrade the notebook from W7 to W10?

If so, the Bluetooth may have been turned off in the HP connection manager software, which is not supported for Windows 10.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to make a bootable Ubuntu USB installer.

Download the ISO file from the link below.

Get Ubuntu | Download | Ubuntu

This link provides instructions for how to make the ISO file bootable.

Create a bootable USB stick with Rufus on Windows | Ubuntu

Boot from the Ubuntu installer and select the option to 'Try Ubuntu Without Installing.'

See if you can turn on the Bluetooth in Ubuntu.

if you can turn it on, then exit Ubuntu, remove the flash drive and restart the PC.

When you get back into Windows, the Bluetooth should be showing up in the device manager.

If you have not recently upgraded to W10 and your notebook has a Ralink Wi-Fi adapter, that is a common problem with the Ralink Bluetooth completely disappearing from the device manager, and there is no fix other than to replace the Wi-Fi card with one of the models that are listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

If you want to do that, I recommend you install this card which has Bluetooth but it is not mentioned.

This card also will give you dual band Wi-Fi.
