Hi @Samarth17

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand that the Bluetooth connection stopped working unexpectedly, and I appreciate that you've already restarted the laptop and ran the Windows troubleshooter. Since the Bluetooth icon has disappeared completely, it suggests that Windows may no longer be detecting the Bluetooth adapter properly.

Please try the following steps:

Perform a complete power reset

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect the charger and any external devices.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and turn the laptop back on.
  • Check if the Bluetooth icon reappears.

Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Bluetooth.
  • If Bluetooth is not listed, click View > Show hidden devices.
  • Look for any Bluetooth device with a down arrow, yellow exclamation mark, or listed under "Unknown devices."
  • If found, right-click the device and select Enable device.
  • If an error symbol is present, select Uninstall device, restart the laptop, and allow Windows to reinstall the driver.

Verify Bluetooth Support Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Bluetooth Support Service.
  • Ensure the service status is Running.
  • If it is stopped, right-click it and select Start.
  • Set Startup Type to Automatic.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Power it on and immediately tap Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Wireless Module Test.
  • Note any failure ID if a test does not pass.

Update the wireless and Bluetooth drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for your exact laptop model.
  • Install the latest Bluetooth and Wireless LAN drivers available for your operating system.
  • Restart the system after installation.

Check for BIOS updates

  • If Bluetooth disappeared suddenly, updating the BIOS from the HP support page for your product may help improve hardware detection and communication.

Check Windows Optional Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.
  • Install any available Bluetooth, Wireless, or chipset-related updates.
  • Restart the device.

If Bluetooth is completely missing from Device Manager even after the power reset and the Wireless Module Test reports a failure, please share the exact HP laptop model and whether Bluetooth is visible anywhere in Device Manager (including hidden devices). This will help determine the next troubleshooting steps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
