My HP Laptop 14z-em000 has a Realtek RTL8852BE wireless adapter. Bluetooth reports Code 45, the Bluetooth toggle is missing from Windows Settings, HP's wireless-module diagnostic passed, and restarting and scanning for hardware changes did not resolve the issue.

Hi @Tatergolf,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thank you for providing the details.
Since your HP Laptop 14z-em000 has a Realtek RTL8852BE wireless adapter, Bluetooth reports Code 45, and the Bluetooth toggle is missing, Windows may not currently be detecting the Bluetooth hardware.
The successful wireless-module diagnostic is useful information, but it does not rule out a Bluetooth-specific driver or hardware issue.
Since restarting and scanning for hardware changes have not resolved the issue, please try the following steps:
1. Perform a complete shutdown.
- Save your work and hold down the Shift key while selecting Start > Power > Shut down.
- Once the laptop is completely off, wait one minute.
- Turn it back on and check whether Bluetooth has returned.
2. Reinstall the Bluetooth driver.
- Open Device Manager and expand Bluetooth.
- If the Realtek Bluetooth adapter appears, right-click it and select Uninstall device.
- If prompted to remove the driver package, leave that option unchecked for now.
- Restart the laptop and check whether Windows detects the adapter again.
3. Install the HP-provided driver
Visit the official HP Software and Driver Downloads page, enter your exact product details, and install the applicable Bluetooth and wireless drivers for your Windows version.
4. Check Windows Update
Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates and check for applicable driver or firmware updates.
You can also refer to Microsoft's guidance on Bluetooth Code 45 and Bluetooth troubleshooting.
Could you please confirm whether the Bluetooth adapter appears under Device Manager after the complete shutdown, and whether this issue started after a Windows or driver update?
If the adapter remains disconnected after reinstalling the correct HP driver, further hardware assessment may be necessary.

Followed instructions, but same error message on Bluetooth driver Code 45. One thing I noticed when choosing a driver, the option on the HP website was for Windows 11 version 25 H2. My system is Windows 11 version 26 H2. Don’t know if this is the issue or not?

Hi @Tatergolf,
Thank you for trying the troubleshooting steps and sharing the additional information.
Yes, the Windows version could be relevant. The HP website offering a driver for Windows 11 version 25H2 while your laptop runs version 26H2 means we cannot assume that the driver is specifically validated for your current Windows version. However, this alone does not confirm that the driver mismatch is causing Code 45.
Since the Bluetooth adapter still reports Code 45 after the complete shutdown and driver reinstall, let's check one more detail before proceeding.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth, right-click the Realtek Bluetooth adapter, and select Properties.
- Open the Details tab and select Hardware Ids from the Property dropdown.
- Copy the displayed values and share them in your reply.
Also, could you confirm whether Bluetooth was working before you upgraded to Windows 11 version 26H2, or whether the issue started afterward?
You can check the latest available driver and firmware packages on the official HP Software and Driver Downloads page. Microsoft also provides guidance for Bluetooth devices that disappear in Windows.
If the adapter remains disconnected after we verify the hardware identification and available driver support, further hardware assessment may be necessary.

Hi @Tatergolf,
Thank you for sharing the screenshots and the additional details.
I can see that the HP driver download page offers Windows 11 version 25H2, while your laptop is running Windows 11 version 26H2.
The difference in Windows versions is worth noting, but it does not necessarily mean that the driver is incompatible. Since the Bluetooth adapter continues to report Code 45 after the troubleshooting steps, we need to determine whether Windows is detecting the hardware correctly and whether a suitable driver is available for your current setup.
Please check the following:
- Open Device Manager and expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Realtek RTL8852BE Bluetooth adapter, select Properties, and open the Details tab.
- Select Hardware Ids from the Property dropdown and share the values displayed.
Best regards,
