The bluetooth toggle has started to turn itself off and will not stay on when selected as such.  My firmware and software are up to date.  Thus far, the only fix is to restart the machine which works for a bit, but the problem resurfaces not too long after.  Any guidance is appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Chromebase 21.5 inch All-in-One Desktop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems that you're experiencing an issue with the Bluetooth functionality on your HP Chromebase 21.5 inch All-in-One Desktop (2S9W1AV). While your firmware and software are up-to-date, the problem persists. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Restart the Bluetooth Daemon: Sometimes restarting the Bluetooth service can resolve connectivity issues. You can achieve this through the developer console:

  • Press CTRL + ALT + T to open the Crosh terminal.
  • Type sudo restart bluetoothd and press Enter.

Check for Hardware Issues: Ensure that there are no hardware malfunctions. If possible, try to connect another Bluetooth device to your desktop to see if the issue persists.

Powerwash Your Chromebook: Performing a factory reset (Powerwash) can help resolve recurring software issues. Note that this will erase all locally stored data (make sure to back up your important files).

  • Go to Settings.
  • Scroll down and click Advanced.
  • In the Reset settings section, select Powerwash.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

Reset All Connections: Performing a reset of all network connections may help.

  • Click on the system tray (where the battery, network, and time are displayed).
  • Click on the gear icon to access Settings.
  • Navigate to Network.
  • Click Bluetooth.
  • Toggle the Reset network settings.

Check for Bluetooth Interference: Ensure that there are no other devices causing interference. Devices like Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, and other electronics can sometimes interfere with Bluetooth signals.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
