HP bluetooth wireless mouse is not getting connected to the HP pavilion laptop. It continuously switches status as connected / not connected. It is a new brand mouse. I faced the same issue with same model of HP mouse earlier. I thought it to be an issue of mouse. So I bought new mouse. But the issue is the same with new mouse also.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the Bluetooth connection issue with your HP Pavilion laptop and the wireless mouse.

Update Bluetooth Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager (right-click on the Start menu and select it).
  • Expand the Bluetooth section, right-click on your Bluetooth adapter, and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Remove and Re-pair the Mouse:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Find your mouse in the list, select it, and click Remove device.
  • Restart your laptop and try pairing the mouse again.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any that are available.

Change Power Management Settings:

  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and click OK.

Check Bluetooth Settings:

  • Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Toggle Bluetooth off and on again.

Interference Check:

  • Make sure there are no other devices causing interference. Move away from other wireless devices or USB 3.0 ports.

Try Connecting Other Bluetooth Devices:

  • To determine if the issue is with the laptop or the mouse, try connecting another Bluetooth device (like headphones) to your laptop.

I hope this helps.

I am very much thankful to you for the prompt response to my query.  I found that there is no technical issue in mouse or laptop either.

The problem is now solved. There is some external signal interference for mouse and laptop bluetooth wireless connection at the place where I sit in the house. I tried to connect mouse at some other location in the house and it connects instantly. After establishing connection, when I come back, the connection remains good throughout the day and does not disconnect. So now whenever the mouse does not connect, I just take laptop to other place in the house, connect and come back to my working place.

Not able to identify what is that external signal interference.
