I attend large meetings in hotel conference rooms and many times there is no WIFI acess. Will the bluetooth in my printer and laptop work together using Bluetooth to print without WI FI access? If not, any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you need an alternate source of printing due to absence of WiFi in those conference rooms,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
It would help to know the product name/number of the printer for better assistance, can you get it?
If not, here's what you need to do:
Bluetooth or Bluetooth Smart (also called Bluetooth Low Energy) comes with some HP printers as wireless connection options. Review the following Bluetooth printer compatibility lists, and then read how to set up the connection to start printing.
Printers with built-in Bluetooth
The following printers support typical pairing through the Bluetooth devices settings on a computer, mobile phone, or tablet. Go to Pairing to printers with built-in Bluetooth for more information on setting up the connection.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)
Or alternatively, make use of WiFi direct, using the steps mentioned here: https://hp.care/2fH5Yr2
Keep me posted,
For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again,
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
