I have been having some problems with my wireless internet connection. The signal is very weak on my HP notebook and it intermitantely drops out. The conncetion is fine when pluged into the router via the ethernet cable and the speed is good.

Hi

 

Can you give make Model and OS please?

 

HP Notebook - 15-ba001ne  is listed as W 10.

 

Also is it under warranty?

 

The Broadcom drivers are dated for March 2016 and should be valid.

 

There are different W10 drivers for 1607 edition and the 1703 edition for a Realtek device and it may just need a driver update.

 

So if windows has done an up-date/grade recently then visiting the link below and/or run HP update software.

If you can remove and reseat the WiFi adapter card that may help.

As CF4 stated, your notebook is not supported by HP for W8.1.

 

You need to install the correct W8.1 wifi driver for the Broadcom wifi adapter.

 

The package contains Broadcom Wireless LAN driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system. Broadcom Wireless LAN driver is required to enable integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter.
