Hp 250 g6 1XN28EA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few weeks ago I bought a hp 250 g6 1XN28EA. I would like to change ram from 4 GB to 8GB. I wanted to know you can do or the ram is soldered? I switched to this PC for the CPU because before I had an intel celeron, but the pc that I had previously had 8 GB of ram and not 4. My question is can I upgrade from 4 to 8? Or the ram is soldered and can not be done?

Yes you can upgrade. It has two memory slots for DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM and since you have an Intel Core processor it can actually handle up to 16 gigs of RAM and even 32 gigs if you have lots of money to spend.

Just add another one of these to have 8 gigs:

Start on p. 39 for "how to".

Thanks for the timely response. So the ram is not soldered to the motherboard. So I have two ram slots one already occupied and one in which I can add another one? Quite right

That's a great summary of my message. So others coming in with a similar question can find it more easily, please accept as solution.

thanks for your answer. with speccy I saw that I have two available slots and one occupied and the other free. Can I buy a 4gb ram module without problems? In the sense that if I open the pc then I have only one free slot? Or there are none of them. Quite right?ram.jpg

Not sure how many more ways to state the facts. You have one slot with a 4 gig module in it and an open slot. You can put a 4 gig module of the kind I linked you to for a total of 8.

HI,

In the manual you posted at page 1 it is written that it is supported up to 16 GB of RAM but in the configurations I can't see the configuration of 16 GB (there are only 3 configurations, 8, 6, 4 GB).

It could be possible to add a slot of 16 GB to the existing 4 GB installed?

Thanks,
Vincenzo
