Product: Omen 15 dc1047nr laptop
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’m trying to buy an Ethernet cable and want the maximum bandwidth it can take, I’m sure cat7 is fine but if I can use cat8 that would be nice

You can use CAT8 but you won't get better speed.  You can buy new CAT8 cable now for your machine because it is backward compatible and can use again on  next available machine.
