Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I current have a pavilion 15, product number is W0P57AV. This laptop currently has Intel AC 3168 wifi card which is only 1x1 and runs on 2.4GHz. I am wondering if I can switch up to a better wifi card which can also support 5GHz. So my question is does my laptop have enough antennas for that and specifically, if I want to switch up to Intel AC 9260, is that feasible, or is there any other wifi card that will support up to 5GHz with Bluetooth that you guys would recommend me switching over to.

Thank you

Hi:

Yes, you should be able to upgrade to the Intel 9260 as a direct swap.

It only needs two antenna cables which should be what are connected to the 3168 in there now.

You want the one that is non-VPro.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the advice, I do have another question regarding to the battery, the battery life has been depleting and it doesn't even charge fully anymore, so I am wondering if I can change to a larger cell battery or if I can only get the same battery but a new one. And if I do can get a larger cell battery, is there any recommendation?

You're very welcome.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Chapter 3, page 17, item 16 shows that only one battery is available and that is the one you have now.

So, you would need to replace the battery with the same part number.

You can also refer to this link to see if there is anything you can do to improve the performance of your existing battery.

I found this link which I think is for my laptop, but I am also wondering if there's any other battery per say with 4 cells that is also compatible with my laptop, or is there any way I can figure that out to see what battery matches my laptop?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know, so I suggest you start a new topic regarding the battery questions.
