Cannot connect to Wifi nor BT devices

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0835no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a brand new HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0835no but cannot connect to WiFi at all. I have followed the support suggestions including updating drivers, removing/adding the device and so on, but the result remains the same - it simply cannot see any WiFi access points.

I have the same issue with the Bluetooth IF where also it cannot find any devices.

The Pavilion uses the Realtek RTL8821CE - 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo

Driver: 2014.0.10.209

Thank you!

@Anders74

Are you able to go online using the Ethernet?

If yes, I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Cannot connect to Wifi nor BT devices

Hi! Thank you for your reply.

Yes I can go online using wired connection and all drivers are updated. I spoke to one of your support agents and I was advised to also check if I could see anything physically wrong. Once I opened up I could see that the antenna from the WLAN chip was not attached so it's a DOA / HW fault and not SW.

Anyway I swapped it to a new today and will test it later. Thank you!
