I have a 14 inch chromebook bought last July. It will not connect to wifi with the message of "Network connection error Failed to connect to network XXXX Unrecognized error, unknown failure" or "out of range" when it was 5 feet away from the router. There is no problem with the network since all other devices are connected without any issue.
I ran the connectivity diagnostics and the Network connection tests:
Captive portal- canceled;
DNS- canceled;
Firewall-canceled;
Google services-canceled;
Local network-failed.
Not sure what all that means but also tried switch on and off, did nothing, tried to do "power wash" to reset to factory default but nothing happened.
HELP!!

Hi @mth540
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Have you tried these steps as well?
If the issue still persists, this is a hardware issue and I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
Have a great day!
