Im [edited ] because my charger stopped working. Like randomly out of thin air it magically and miraculously just decided to stop charging my laptop. I'm livid because I use this laptop for everything you can imagine from drawing to working and I don't have the money to replace the charging cord. I don't know what to do.

Hi @sokabeln,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your charger stops working unexpectedly. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue with your HP laptop charger:

Check the Outlet:

  •  Ensure that the power outlet you are using is working. You can test it by plugging in another device.

Inspect the Charger and Cable:

  •  Look for any visible damage, frays, or bends in the charging cable or the charger itself. Physical damage could prevent it from charging your laptop.

Check the Connection:

  •  Ensure the charger is properly connected to both the power outlet and the laptop. Remove the charger, clean any dust or dirt from the ports, and reconnect it.

Reset the Laptop

  • Try resetting your laptop by removing the battery (if possible) and unplugging the charger. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, then reconnect the battery and charger and try turning it on.

Test with Another Charger

  • If possible, try using a different charger that is compatible with your laptop to determine if the issue lies with the charger or the laptop itself.

Take care and have an amazing day!
