Microsoft Windows 11

It seems that my freshly bought notebook do not support Mesh WiFi?

AVM states that 802.11k and 802.11v should be available to support Mesh WiFi. In the Envy it seems that only 802.11v is available while 802.11k is missing.

Is this only some kind of driver setup issue?

I have already installed the most recent version.

Any help would be awsome because I cannot use the notebook as intended.

It seems to be a more severe problem with the notebook. It has been sent to service.

Updating drivers / modifying the router did not solve the issue.

Hi @Andy0170,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your new HP Envy x360 and its compatibility with Mesh WiFi. It's frustrating when new technology doesn't work as expected. Let's see how we can address this situation together.

  • Have you checked the specifications of your Wi-Fi adapter to confirm which Wi-Fi standards it supports?
  • Is your Mesh WiFi system functioning correctly with other devices, or are they experiencing similar issues?
  • Have you noticed any other connectivity issues, such as dropouts or slow speeds, aside from the Mesh WiFi compatibility?

Let's try this.

Check Wi-Fi Adapter Settings:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting it.
  • Expand the Network adapters section and locate your Wi-Fi adapter. Right-click on it and select Properties.
  • In the Advanced tab, look for options related to 802.11k and 802.11v. If available, ensure they are enabled.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Even if you have installed the most recent drivers, consider uninstalling the current Wi-Fi adapter driver and reinstalling it.
  • In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, select Uninstall device, and check the option to delete the driver software. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Change Wi-Fi Channel Settings:

  • Access your Mesh WiFi router settings (typically through a web browser) and check if there are settings related to Wi-Fi channels.
  • Sometimes, changing the channel (e.g., from automatic to a specific channel) can improve compatibility.

Network Reset:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Scroll down and click on Network reset.
  • This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and reset all network settings back to their original defaults. After doing this, reconnect to your Mesh WiFi network.

Consult AVM Support:

  • Since AVM mentions requirements for 802.11k and 802.11v, contact their support for clarification on whether they have any specific recommendations or updates for your HP Envy x360 model.
  • They may also provide firmware updates for the Mesh system that could resolve compatibility issues.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
