HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 Convertible Workstation IDS Base Model

Hi Community,

I would like to know if anyone can recommend a WWAN upgrade for the ZBook Studio x360 G5 (2019).

I have read the manual so I know the Intel XMM 7360 (L15398-001) is compatible but I see that the Intel XMM 7560 is not listed.

Does anyone know what the technical restriction preventing an upgrade to another model is. Given that it would cost me over £200 (GBP) and a long wait to order a Intel XMM 7360 (L15398-001) from parts.hp.com. I'm really keen to try a more up-to-date model. I see 5G modems for much less than half that price!

Thanks in advance,

DannyB07

Please use page 42 of the following manual

Thanks and maybe I wasn't clear.

I HAVE already read the manual (https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06040448.pdf).

I would like to know whether anyone has had any experience or can offer advice on alternative WWAN models that are NOT listed but have found to function with this laptop. I'm particularly interested in 5G models that can still function but at 4G LTE (Assuming the system board/BIOS on this  model ZBook is restricted from / unable to cope with 5G).

As I mentioned in another post (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-to-access-a-sealed-SIM-car...), this ZBook is hardly used and in pristine condition. When I ordered it (2019), I underestimated the benefits of WWAN connectivity with the way I work and as it is outside of warranty, I am willing to try recommended upgrades that are not in the manual.

Thanks again,

DannyB07
