Ok so I recently bought dongle that goes into my usb-c port and gives me 3 usb ports and an ethernet port. The USB ports all work great however whenever I plug an ethernet cable into the dongle it will not give me internet. Nothing HAPPENS. Please help me to fix this problem.

What is the model/product of your USB-C adapter ? You may need driver for it. I'm using the following adapter and it works great
https://www.startech.com/au/Cards-Adapters/USB-3.0/Hubs/3-port-usb-3-hub~HB30C3A1GE
At the begining I used the followning adpater which came with my loan HP x360 machine
http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-usb-type-c-to-rj45-adapter
But sometimes I need more USB 3.0 ports therefore I bought the Startech one.
Regards.

Hi,
As mentioned above. You need to find out its brand and model and download driver for it from vendor's site.
Just FYI.
I did test few of them
(a) Drivers will make many differences,
(b) No name can't compare with brnd name.
Regards.
