My laptop does not have an ethernet port. I have a USB to ethernet cable. Can I download a driver to recognise the Modem and connect to the internet that way. I need faster internet for on line classes over zoom.

Hi
The full model number may help.
However....
A straightforward Wi-Fi dongle may help, especially if it gives 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands.

Hi, @SOK2
What you propose will work but the USB to RJ-45 ethernet adapter you have must be compatible with Windows.
Some are only compatible with Macs, etc.
They don't need drivers (unless you have some ancient model that needs drivers).
If that is the case, you would have to go to the adapter's manufacturer website and see if there is a W10 driver for it.
Otherwise, buy a USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter that is compatible with W10. Something like this...
