Connected to Internet but can't Browse

I have just re-activated an old Compaqnx6125 laptop with OS windows xp. Although the laptop will connect to the Internet, I can send and recieve emails, I can't get the Browser to connect. I have upgraded tp IE8. I undrestand that thje Broadcom BCM4318 drivers can't support WASP2, which my network is using. Can anybody direct me to wifi drivers or configuration program that will allow me to overcome this problem please?

I am not familiar with WASP2, so can you try cmd.exe and

ipconfig -all

if that works in XP.

You could try something like FireFox, or Opera.

I think you need a better browser than IE8.

You were correct. I have installed FireFox, you can find a copy that works on Windows XP, and I have browser access to the internet. Something to do with Microsoft certificates perhaps?
