My HP laptop can not find the recently installed Canon TR8620a on my local network. The PC is Ethernet to the router and the printer is wireless to the router. Other computers on the network find the printer without a problem. The HP (this Laptop) can not. I have updated the BIOS, have the latest Windows updates, the printer has the latest updates. Trouble shooters do not find the problem. This laptop was previously used with another Canon printer without a problem. All traces (that I know of) of that printer have been removed. I have downloaded the drivers and installation software from Canon. When I attempt to send a test page, the computer wants to send a Fax (it is a fax enabled printer) but the operation fails because the printer can not be found. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

Your best support option -
Go to Canon Printer Support for help with your Canon printer.
Scroll down on the web page for contact information.
From your description, it sounds like the driver is not (fully) installed or the printer is perhaps not set as the Default printing device.

Thanks for the suggestions. The printer was set as the default printer. I have downloaded the drivers and installation software from Canon at least 10 times. If the drivers are not fully installed, I am at a loss on how to fix that. I think it must be a computer issue because two other laptops find the printer as well as my phone and ipad. Thanks again.

You are welcome.
Think Windows - the brains of the operation.
The computer hardware is a box, display panel, and a keyboard.
If you have not done so,
Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.
Next,
If the drivers will not install,
The problem might be a result of one or more pieces of software left stuck after a previous installation attempt.
Where do "stuck pieces" of printer software hide?
Now we are getting into "HP" specific instructions --
I've never used a Canon printer.
I don't know how the Canon printer software installs into Windows.
If you can extrapolate the details for your printer,
and
IF the Canon software bears any similarity to HP printer software when it lands in Windows,
then
The following might be useful.
Example - Check and Remove
