on hp elitebook 840 g1 with intel centrino wireless N-2230 can't find the option to turn bluetooth on under the bluetooth and other device section of windows 10. any solution please ? does this card support wireless bluetooth connection ? if no,any other way to get the feature in ?

Hi:

 

Yes it does.

 

If you upgraded the PC from W7 to W10, most likely the Bluetooth was turned off with the HP connection manager software during the upgrade.   Since the HP connection manager software doesn't work in W10 that is why the BT doesn't show up.

 

Other than going back to W7 and turning on the bluetooth in the connection manager software, there is one other way to do it.

 

Download Ubuntu from the link below, and make a bootable Ubuntu installer (see second link for how to make ubuntu bootable).

Boot from the Ubuntu installer.

 

Select the option to 'Try Ubuntu without installing.'

 

Turn on the Bluetooth in Ubuntu.

 

Shut down the PC, remove the Ubuntu installer, turn on the PC and when you get back into Windows, the Bluetooth should be showing up in the device manager.
