Do I need a particular rj-45 adapter to connect to ethernet - my notebook has 2 USB Ports - will any adapter work?

Hi, Peter:

 

Any type of USB to RJ-45 ethernet adapter should work as long as you make sure that it is supported for Windows.

 

Also, they have 10/100 adapters and 10/100/1000 (gigabit) adapters.

 

The gigabit adapters require a USB3 port in order to achieve the maximum throughput.
