Yes, I've got what I need for the ethernet connection. What do you think would be the speed with the 5G card?

Hi:

With the RTL8821CE, again, it depends on how close you are to the router and whatnot.

I have a HP 255 G7 notebook with an AMD A4 processor and the RTL8821CE Wi-Fi card.

This notebook is slow as molasses, unfortunately.

I ran a speed test on the Wi-Fi card connected to the 5.0 GHz band and got a download speed of between 85 MBPS and 96 MBPS after running the test 5 times.

That's pretty disappointing because I have an excellent signal and am about 20 feet away from the router in an adjacent room.

The card itself is connecting to my network at 433 MBPS, so that is quite a difference between what the card is connecting at and what the download speed tests indicate.

I also have a 300 MBPS service.

Wow, given your input, I guess I'll just go with the ethernet connection.  Again, thanks so much!
