Control panel devices and printers shows an error for the notebook: Driver for Officejet Pro 6830 is not installed. Install the latest driver for the device. I do not have that printer and can find no way to fix the problem.

Hello, @macamac - Greetings!
Thanks for reaching out! I'd like to help 🙂
You mentioned that even though that you do not have the Officejet 6830 printer, you are getting an error message asking to install the software for the printer. It could be possible that the software parts are still on your PC which gives you the error. I'd suggest you completely uninstall / remove the Officejet printer program from your PC.
Let's first try to uninstall the HP printer drivers using the "Microsoft Fix it" tool. Check here: http://hp.care/2dHImNI
Download and install the app and follow the on-screen instructions to remove the drivers from your PC. Once done restart the computer.
If the issue persists or if you would like to remove the program manually, then try the steps below:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Click the bottom-left Start button on the desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.
- Once in device manager, click on the view tab in the top & choose “Show hidden devices”.
- Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer” – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device".
- Restart your computer.
Hope that helps. Let me know!
Cheers 🙂
