HP Pavillion Notebook

Hello Guys,

I just reinstalled Windows 10 on my notebook after some slowdown issues, new Windows 10 version- 1903. I get internet service from college server where login screen pops up automatically when connected to network. My WiFi works fine, but Ethernet is not working - it shows "No Internet" only, does not give any pop up for login, I tried manual login too but it isn't working. Ethernet works on Ubuntu but not on newly installed Windows 10. It was working on my older version of Windows 10.

I tried following steps:

1. Troubleshooting - shows "Not valid IP configuration".

2. Updated Network driver - Realtek PCIe family controller

3. Uninstalled network driver and rebooted

4. Updated Windows

but none of the above steps worked.

I hope I can get help from community, help me try to make ethernet work again. Thanks in advanced 🙂

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Windows 10 includes a network diagnostic tool and a network troubleshooter. Both tools help to identify network problems and provide possible solutions.

To run the diagnostic tool manually, use one of the following options:

  • No error message is displayed, but there is no Internet or network connection:

Right-click the Network Connection icon  in the notification area, then click Troubleshoot problems. Windows Network Diagnostics checks for problems.

    Image of notification area

  • The Network Connection icon is missing in the notification area:

From the search box on the taskbar, type repair network, then select Identify and repair network problems from the search results.

    Search results for repair network

If the issue persists, continue the next step:

Microsoft System Restore uses automatically-saved information to restore your computer to a certain point in time. Using Microsoft System Restore can restore your computer to a time when the Internet connection was working properly. For more information, refer to Using Microsoft System Restore.

When you have restored your computer, try connecting to the Internet again. If you do not experience further problems with the network, you are done.

If you are still experiencing problems with the network, use HP System Recovery. Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10).

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
