HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 Notebook PC (2E5E5AV)

Hello, I own an HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 laptop and yesterday I purchased an HP Thunderbolt 120W G4 Docking Station. Everything works except for the Ethernet connection. On any other laptop, the Ethernet starts working right away, even if it's not an HP. The Ethernet drivers are automatically downloaded and activated, and the LED lights start blinking. However, with this laptop, nothing happens. The LEDs next to the RJ-45 port don't blink either.

I've tried reinstalling the firmware on the docking station, and updated everything via HP Support Assistant, especially the firmware. I also tried manually downloading the Intel Ethernet driver from the product page. The Ethernet adapter does appear under the network adapters list, but even though the cable is connected, it still reports "Network cable unplugged."

Thank you for any advice.
