Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I know that Win 10 doesn't support this model anymore.

I want to know if there is a workaround to get it to connect to the internet even using a usb wifi dongle or whatever.

Thls is the log I get from MS diagnostices.

Hi:

Have you tried updating the wifi and ethernet drivers to newer versions?

Ethernet:  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 driver at the link below.

The problem is that MS is not supporting this computer and hasn't for a few years.

So updating anything is not going to help.

I'm just trying to see if anyone thinks an add on wifi dongle will work even if the on board devices can't work.

I don't know why you wouldn't try updating the networking drivers when newer versions exist.

Takes a couple of minutes and who knows...maybe it will work.

I have a HP notebook PC that is 6 years older than yours, and mine runs W10 just fine including the networking adapters, despite the fact that it was never supported by HP or Microsoft for W10.

Anyway, to answer your question, all you can do is buy a USB adapter and see if it will work.

I wouldn't know of any reason why it wouldn't.

This computer is on a list of HP computers that are not supported by MS Win10 any longer.

That was already a long time ago.  I think because it has the AMD processor.

I tried the updates you are talking about a long time ago and they don't work.

So I'm looking for someone to answer the question I asked.

I want to know if anyone thinks that an different solution may work.  That's why I'm thinking about trying

an independent wifi solution such as a USB wifi adapter.

I'm thinking of bringing the computer to a store that sells these things and telling them I'll buy the wifi adapter if it works.

Any other ideas?

I already answered your question regarding the USB adapter.

I repeat...I do not know of any reason why one would not work.

Sorry if that is not a good enough answer for you.

I cannot give you a 100% guarantee that a USB adapter will work.

So, that is all I have to write about this matter.
