Olá, equipe,

Hello Team,

I have been facing internet issues on my laptop for quite some time. The wifi keeps disconnecting every 5-10 min. I have tried all the steps I could to resolve it at my end but could not succeed.

The steps that I have tried are:

- Updating the latest driver.

- Setting up the power plan to maximum performance.

- Network reset.

Note: When I connect with the LAN wire, the internet works fine. The issue is with the Wireless driver only.

Could you please help in resolving this issue?

Thanks,

@ayankit17

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  • Expand the "Network Adapters" field. This will list all network adapters that the machine has installed.
  • Right-click on the adapter you want to uninstall and select "Uninstall"
  • Restart your computer and check for the network connection.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

I tried the steps mentioned. After restart it worked fine for 10 min. then again the issue occurred.

I have been observing this issue for quite some time now, probably a month.

Still stuck with the issue

Hello Ayankit17

I have posted this to someone else who has the same problem (there are many of us on the internet!!)

I had this same problem for a long time and tried every solution posted on the internet.

I could only get my wi-fi back (for a short time) by uninstalling the adapter (in device manager) and doing a hard reboot.

However, 3 weeks ago I found a further suggestion of disabling IPv6, and I no longer have the problem.

Go to Settings -> Network & internet->select Change adapter options->R click on your wi-fi->select Properties->deselect Internet Protocol version 6.

Hope this helps, as I was extremely frustrated by the issue.

@ayankit17

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
