HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to reset my HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer to factory settings.  Several attempts have failed.  When I get to the Restore Factory Settings tab, the message is that the function was locked by the person who set up the printer.  That would be me but I am not aware that I ever locked anything.  How do I unlock this function? and then, how do I complete resetting the printer to factory settings?  I have seen a couple of posts just like mine but I see that the solution says something about a private message.  Can anyone walk me the answer here so that others can see exactly how to fix their printer when the factory reset somehow locks you out of your own printer?  Thanks for whatever help or direction you can give me.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd love to help.

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the communities page for the private message.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!
