Fraud? Referral to PC WinMac Repair

Thought I was on HP website. I was attempting to connect my new laptop to my internet so I could use my printer. When Chat came up and referred to me PC WinMac Repair. Are they scammers?

Well, they are NOT HP and they were never recommended or allowed on any real HP website.

HP Support does not farm you out to third party strangers.

Not by chat,

Not by phone,

Not by any means.

Rats in the clothes of a gentleman are still Rats - likely proven so and dangerous.

If you always start "here" you won't be "outside" the walls.

If you wander out onto the Internet, yes - HP is there - Search engines can certainly find HP.

What else is out there? 

Lots and Lots of people who are NOT HP and who are looking to take advantage of you and ruin your day.

Some of the sites look like HP -- they've hijacked the logo and the look of the site.

It's a battle between good and evil.

Once smacked down, the sites come back.

All you can go is be careful - and ask for help if you are unsure.

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.
