HP Envy 15T-K200
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I own an HP Envy 15T-K200.  The harddrive for it died a few years after I purchased it, so I installed a new harddrive and installed Windows 7 (I don't like Windows 10).  However, the HP support website does not have my laptop model.  The closest they have is a version with a touch screen, but the wireless driver does not work.  The hardware ID for my network controller is

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_1838103C&REV_01

The hardware ID for my PCI simple communications controller is

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9CBA&SUBSYS_229C103C&REV_03

Let me know if any more information is needed.  Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The first ID belongs to Atheros AR9485 wireless card and the second ID belongs to Intel PCI controller. It means you have to install proprietary Intel driver for the chipset:

Am I supposed to do something after?  That didnt quite work.

EDIT: Let me add that I already have the chipset driver.

Does it matter where I extract this zip file to as long as it is in C:\?

To whom are you addressing yourr question to?

I gave you the drivers you need....download, and run the exe files, and follow the onscreen instructions to install the drivers.

Basically they install themselves.

@Paul_Tikkanen I think the network controller driver is wrong.  The other one worked.

EDIT:  The reason I think it's wrong is because the network controller is still an "unknown device" in the device manager.

Hi, @b_axel

It should have worked...here is a partial copy and paste of the Atheros wifi driver setup information file I posted which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted...

@Paul Success!  It was already pointing to the right driver folder in the device manager, but I pointed it to somewhere else and back and then it worked.  Weird.  Thank you for your help!

You're very welcome.

Yes, usually the auto install works, but sometimes you have to manually install the driver if it doesn't, as you found out.

That happens from time to time with some Atheros wifi cards for some reason.
