Hp 250 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

last week I buyed a new Hp 250 G6 notebook with i3-6006, 4gb ram, 500 gb hd, intel ac-3168 dual wifi network adapter.

I installed Win 10 pro 64 bit,no issue except that wifi level was always at 1 on 4 level, very unstable, a lot of connection lost, a lot of "is not possible to connect" also with correct password and configuration.

I tested Win 10 pro, hp and intel drivers with same result.

I tested notebook on other wifi net other than me, same issue (other 2 different wifi access point @work and @internetpoint.

I tested also a Lubuntu distro finding similar issue (to be sure that was not a driver fault),always 1 on 4 level in wifi and very simple connection losting and problem to re-connect.

I solved problem disabling WIFI onboard and using a Tp-link USB adapter; 4 on 4 wifi level and no issue in same place and same wifi access.

Honestly I'm not happy as I suppose a Wifi module fault or other hardware issue (Bluetooth wave conflict, antenna fault or I don't know what..).

Any proposal against assistance ?

I need notebook for work and I cannot send in assistance in this moment.

I had for a lot of years a "rock" hp pavillion DV6242EA  running with Win Xp,Vista, 7 and 10 with no issue,I choose other time Hp for this reason but I'm just disappointed for this...

Thank youvery much for your support, and sorry for my English.

Could indeed be something like the antenna connectors being loose or problems with the antenna wiring etc.

It might be a good idea to download a WiFi analyzer software to get a more precise strength indication and to compare with some other computer in the same location.

People are using their precious remaining lifetime to try and help, so it is common courtesy to come back and tell what the solution eventually was even if you found it elsewhere. It is for the benefit of everyone.

Thanks for your reply.
Obviously all other device connected to same nets I tested were in full level range and stone solid connection stable. So the issue is only on my laptop... 😞
If I unscrew inspection panel inspecting the antenna connections and module right inserting in motherboard can I lost warranty ?
In any case with Tp-link USB receiver everything works fully and stable. So no software issue but, as you suggested, module antennas working or connectors fault... Unlucky.

If you don't see any seals that you need to break to open the panels you should be good. We're not telling anyone

Finally I tried and I sokved.

Main antenna wire number 2 totally disconnected by wifi module, and wifi screw appears "smeared" as someone unscrew it in past. Probably the module was changed and the untrained hand that "eat" the screw incorrectly reconnected the antenna wire and so I found mistake. The trouble is that I bought PC as new in webshop... But this is another issue, now wifi sounds good. Thank you very much for your support and help.IMG_20180427_234649_732.jpg
